EAC lecture series continues at Discovery Park with A Closer Look at the Underground Railroad

Thatcher, Ariz. – Thatcher, Ariz. – Eastern Arizona College’s ongoing Discovery Park lecture series will continue this week with a presentation by Denise Crockett entitled A Closer Look at the Underground Railroad. Scheduled for Saturday, February 11, at 6 p.m., the lecture will be held in the Jupiter Room of the main Discovery Park building (1651 W. Discovery Park Blvd., in Safford). Admission to the event is free and the presentation is suitable for all ages. 

All are invited to enjoy this Black History Month presentation on the Underground Railroad and the role that handmade, coded quilts played in helping move 100,000 enslaved people to freedom. 

While there, visitors are invited to tour the Graham County Historical Society’s display of historic artifacts, the “History of Astronomy” gallery, and take a ride on the “Polaris” shuttle simulator for a tour of the solar system; all free of charge and just minutes away from home.
