EAC Cheer Takes Home First Place In Competition

The Eastern Arizona College Cheer team attended the National Cheerleaders’ Association’s college training camp in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 2-4. They received a blue ribbon for their game day routine and a a first-place trophy in the JUCO intermediate division for their rally routine in competition on the final day of camp.

EAC cheer is an active member of football and basketball games as well as parades in town. They also travel to all road games and have made the trip to Kansas the last two seasons to support the Gila Monster football team in their Bowl Game.

This year’s team is made up of:
Veterans: Sam Brown (Thatcher High), Marisa Cardenas and Destiny Quezada (Tucson High)
Rookies: Brice Skinner and Alayna Curtis (Thatcher High),  Melina Lopez (Tucson High), Sabrina Collins and Derrikkia Sweet (Pima High) Janelle Farmer (Benson High) Sadie Neilson (Highland High),
Tashina Loew (Gallup High)
The team is coached by Machael Layton.
