EAC Art Department invites the public to view its Graphic Design Portfolio Show
The show will hang in the Activities Center through April 29
THATCHER, AZ—Eastern Arizona College’s Art Department invites the public to view its Graphic Design Portfolio Show featuring the work of ten talented EAC students.
The show is scheduled to hang from Monday, April 18 through Friday, April 29 in the EAC Activities Center lobby; the show is open to the public all day from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
“This collection represents portfolio-level designs completed by each student during their tenure at EAC,” says EAC graphic design instructor, Jeff Henley. “This year the featured artists are Mercedes Arndt, Ron Arrellin, Shanna Kee, Amber Longhurst, Miguel Martinez, Mandy Matthews, Karlie Pape, Zac Payne, Aaron Smith, and Thomas Williams. These students are part of the future of visual communications!”
Mercedes Arndt will be graduating with a degree in graphic design this year in May. After graduation she wants to become a graphic designer for Disney. When she is not in school, Arndt enjoys being social, playing video games, and working out. She always loved the creativity of the arts as a child and continues to practice and work hard to reach her aspired dream job.
Ronald Arrellin will graduate in May of this year with degrees in graphic design and general education. He plans to pursue a career as a graphic designer for the newspaper business after graduation. He enjoys gaming, football, and spending time with his family.
Shanna Kee will graduate in May with a degree in graphic design. She plans to finish her general education curriculum in Scottsdale and then transfer to Arizona State University to continue her bachelor’s degree in graphic design. She enjoys painting, photography, and being involved in church activities.
Amber Longhurst will graduate with a degree in graphic design in May of this year. Her passions include drawing, music, and traveling. She plans to attend BYU – Idaho to become an animator for DreamWorks, Pixar, or Disney.
Miguel Martinez is majoring in graphic design to eventually graduate with an associates degree from EAC. He plans on serving in the military after graduation. For now, he enjoys working out, reading, and photography.
Mandy Mathews will graduate from EAC with an associates degree in graphic design this May. She enjoys reading, watching movies, and being with her friends. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career doing what she loves – creating art.
Karlie Pape, will graduate from EAC with her degree in graphic design in May of this year. She plans on moving to Los Angeles for an internship in graphic design after graduation. She enjoys reading, watching movies, and doing graphic design projects for clients.
Zac Payne will graduate with a degree in graphic design in May of this year. After graduation, he plans on moving to Logan, Utah, to attend Utah State University and marry his fiancé. In his spare time, Payne enjoys road cycling and photography.
Aaron Smith is a Safford High School student attending EAC through the GIFT (Gila Institute For Technology) program. As a member of the Safford High School Art Club, he helps out with events like Relay for Life and face painting at football games. He plans to continue his education at EAC and graduate with a degree in graphic design after high school.
Thomas Williams is a graphic design student attending EAC. He plans to pursue a career in music or gaming using his graphic design skills. He enjoys playing video games, going to punk rock concerts, and playing guitar.
