DUNCAN — The Senior Center in Duncan is open and ready to be enjoyed.

Southeastern Arizona Community Unique Services (SEACUS) held a grand re-opening Monday of its Duncan Senior Center, at 214 High Street. The facility had been closed in 2020 due to the pandemic.

“We’re just excited all the way around to have it open and going,” said Stephanie Nabor, SEACUS executive director. “Hopefully we’ll start to have some participation. Of course that’s going to come with education and making (seniors) aware that we are here again.”

The building features a dining room for congregate lunches, an activity room with a library of donated books, and a small kitchenette.

Because food is prepared in the Clifton Senior Center kitchen, Duncan attendees are asked to call SEACUS at 928-428-3226 the day before if they plan on having lunch. There is no need to call if attending just for activities.

The SEACUS Senior Center in Duncan will be open for activity and congregate meals Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. ech day.

SEACUS is currently sharing the building with Duncan Pride Society, while Duncan Pride continues work on renovations of the Billingsly House.

The Duncan Senior Center will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. — with lunch served from 11 a.m. to noon — Monday through Friday.
