PHOENIX, ARIZ., – Dr. Zuhdi Jasser is calling for the Biden Administration to implement stringent security and vetting at Arizona’s southern border amidst reports that U.S. Customs and Border Patrol are preparing for Hamas militants to cross the Southern border. According to the latest CBP estimates, 250 known terrorists have been stopped at the southern border this year alone.
“We know terrorists have been using our southern border for years, so it is no surprise the Hamas militants may be using it as their war with Israel intensifies,” said Jasser. “The Biden Administration should have immediately implemented strong security protocols at the border in light of this war. They have not. The administration’s lack of action is baffling but is becoming routine.
“What is being ignored in Washington is how Arizonans have already been suffering from our open border. Our district is only 250 miles from the border and our constituents feel the impact every day in their neighborhoods with the reality and the legitimate fears of crime, terror, and drugs. From the record amounts of fentanyl flowing into the state to the increase in crime due to cartel activity and lack of vetting, our communities are paying a heavy price. Some estimates put the cost of illegal immigration to Arizona at 10 billion. We are growing tired of Washington’s inaction.
“We are also growing tired of the constant assault on American values. In order to keep America a country worth immigrating to, we must emphasize the American identity of individual, God-given freedom and economic opportunity that has made us a beacon of hope to the world. The radical left doesn’t see our national identity as worth protecting, and so they have no interest in stopping America’s enemies at the border. As your Congressman, I will advocate for robust vetting at the border to protect the safety of American citizens and I will elevate our national identity as a shining beacon that will attract those longing to embrace it.”
