SAFFORD — The City of Safford wants to know what the public — and most especially the shop owners — think about events in the Downtown area.

Downtown Special Events is the focus of the third public forum in Safford’s Conversation Series, Thursday, Feb. 27, from 8-9 a.m. at the Safford Library Annex.

The hot topic will be road closures for special events, such as Spring Festival, SalsaFest, Harvest Fest, Merry Main Street and the Holiday Light Parade.

City officials are looking for input on parking, vehicle removal and closure announcements.

Meanwhile, the city is still taking public input on retail needs and wants.

While many have commented on the Facebook pages of the city and Gila Valley Central, they way to get information to city officials is by clicking here and taking the six-question survey.

The survey asks for the respondent’s favorite retailer and restaurant, what retail and restaurants the respondent would like to see in the city, if the respondent lives in the City of Safford and any additional comments.
