SAFFORD — The Boys and Girls of the Gila Valley’s biggest fund-raiser of the year takes place this weekend.
After a two-year break due to the pandemic, the Denim and Diamonds Gala returns Saturday from 6-10 p.m. at The Venue on Main Street in Safford, and will feature plenty of opportunities for dancing.
“We will have a signer there; her name is Andi Hernandez. She actually was in Gila Idol,” said Brittany Hernandez, secretary for the Boys and Girls Club of the Gila Valley board. “So we’re going to have her there and some music afterwards.”
Dinner is being provided by La Paloma restaurant, there will be an open bar and attendees can participate in a 50/50 raffle.
The Boys and Girls Club formed in 1999 and serves more than 200 Gila Valley youths year-round with a safe place to be after school, help with homework, and health and wellness programs.
