Dems to unveil new local headquarters Saturday

SAFFORD — The Graham County Democratic Party is inviting the public to a ribbon-cutting for its new headquarters.

The ribbon-cutting will take place Saturday, Aug. 1, at 9 a.m. at the blue building located at 816 W. Thatcher Blvd. in Safford, next to the Bullpen on U.S. Highway 70.

“Definitely wear a mask, we are practicing that and asking that everyone does that. We are social distancing, so limited numbers. If you see a crowd a crowd, please stay in your car,” said Graham County Democratic Party Chair Nick Nordgran-Tellez, during a recent appearance on Voice of the Valley.

Nordgran-Tellez said the party took out a six-month lease on the building and this will be the first Democratic Party headquarters in Graham County in the last 10 years.

He said tours of the facility will be offered throughout the day and there will be free hot dogs, soda and cotton candy offered to all who attend.
