SAFFORD — The extra day that comes once every four years is bringing a pair of events in Graham and Greenlee counties.
The Democratic Parties of Graham and Greenlee counties are joining together to host a Leap-a-Looza Community BBQ event Thursday, Feb. 29, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Vignette on Main in Safford.
The event will feature candidates for office, an opportunity to pick up candidate signs, sign petitions, and more.
Candidates currently confirmed to appear at Leap-a-Looza include Bob Karp, who is seeking to unseat incumbent David Gowan for the state Senate seat in Dist. 19, which represents Graham, Greenlee and Cochise counties; and Nick Nordgran-Tellez, who is seeking one of the state House seats in Dist. 19 currently held by Gail Griffin and Lupe Diaz.
In Clifton, Canyonlands Healthcare is hosting a grand re-opening event.
The event will offer an opportunity to meet the new provider, tour the updated facility and talk with staff.
The Canyonlands grand re-opening will take place from noon to 5:30 p.m. at the facility, located at 10-A Ward Canyon Rd.
