Debra Lee Sexton

Debra Lee Sexton, age 69 and a resident of Safford, passed away at her home on Friday evening, October 4, 2024, holding the hand of her husband. Debbie was born on June 22, 1955, in Globe, Arizona, to Kenneth and Rosalie Blackman and was the oldest of three children.

Debbie attended Morenci High School where she met and later married Duane Sexton. Debbie and Duane made their home in Morenci where they raised their two kids, Brandon and Aimee. Debbie was a long-time employee of the Morenci Healthcare Center. She loved to read, spend time with friends and attend her kids’ school events.

Debbie and Duane later moved to Bisbee, Arizona, then Phoenix, Arizona, before finally settling and finding their forever home in Safford.

Debbie is survived by: her husband of 51 years, Duane Sexton; her sister, Stacey Quinn (Steve); her son, Brandon (Amy); and her daughter, Aimee Arrington (Brian); five grandchildren whom she adored, Cameron Sexton, Caitlin Sexton, Paityn Arrington, Rylee Arrington and Chase Arrington. Debbie is preceded in death by: her father, Kenneth Blackman; her mother, Rosalie Blackman; and her brother, Kenny Joe Blackman.

A Celebration of Debbie’s life is currently pending and will be announced at a later date. The family requests that donations be made to the Arizona-New Mexico Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
