Dalia R. Lopez, 90, of Safford, passed away December 22, 2015 with her loving family at her side. She was born October 10, 1925 in Solomon, Arizona to Acencion & Marianna Rios.
Dalia attended school in Morenci, graduating from Morenci High School. She met and married Enrique S. Lopez in Morenci and together they were blessed with four boys; Enrique “Rick”, Steve, John and Daniel. She was a homebody and homemaker and was the best mom ever, according to her sons. Dalia was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1958 and survived for 57 years.
She is survived by her sons; Enrique, Jr., Steve, John and Daniel Lopez, brothers; Acencion (Vergie) Rios and Raymond (Monie) Rios and sisters, Christine (Robert) De Leon and Clotilde “Tilly” (Fernando) Gonzales, 26 Grandchildren, 60 Great-Grandchildren, 20 Great-Great-Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Dalia was preceded in death by her loving husband, Enrique S. Lopez, parents, Acencion & Marianna Rios, sister, Velia Rios, sister and brother-in-law, Lilly & Mike Barrios, and brother, Lilo Rios.
A visitation for Dalia will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 9:00 a.m., the Rosary will be led at 10:00 a.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to Breast Cancer Research.
