COVID-19 case count continues to climb

SAFFORD — There are 22 new cases of COVID-19 in Graham County as of Friday.

Graham County Health Department reported that 12 of the new cases involve residents on the San Carlos Apache Tribe reservation, five are in Safford, Four in Pima and one in Thatcher.

That brings Graham County’s total to 1,105, with 304 cases considered active. There have been 27 deaths.

A total of 298 people were tested at the free testing blitz at Graham County Fairgrounds on Friday. Health Department officials said they expect to have those results early next week.

Greenlee County Health Department announced six new cases late Thursday evening.

That brings Greenlee County’s total to 100, with 38 of the cases considered active. There have been two deaths.
