Community pools soon to open for the season

SAFFORD — Temperatures are heating up and school is almost out for the year — that means community pools will open soon.

Thatcher has turned on the splash pad at the park on Ball Park Drive. The splash pad is free to use and open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

The Pima Community Pool will open Saturday, May 20. Cost is $2 or $75 for a season pass and $175 for a family season pass.

The pool will have open swim Monday through Saturday, from 1-5 p.m.; night swim is Tuesday and Thursday, 7-9 p.m.; and adult swim is Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 5-6 p.m.

Eastern Arizona College’s pool will open to the community Monday, May 22. Cost is $2 per person per session.

Day swim is Monday through Saturday, from 1-5 p.m.; adult lap swim is Monday through Saturday, noon to 1 p.m.; and night swim is Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-8 p.m.

The Safford Community Pool will open Friday, May 26. Cost is $2 per person, $7 for night swim, youth season pass is $50, adult season pass is $75 and family season pass is $125.

Hours will be Monday through Thursday, 12:30-5 p.m.; Friday, noon to 4 p.m.; and Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. Adult lap swim is Monday through Thursday, 7-8 a.m. and 5-6 p.m.; and Friday, 7-8 a.m. Family night swim is Monday and Wednesday, 6-8 p.m.
