GRAHAM COUNTY — There will be three Easter egg hunts for children this weekend.
The first is Friday, April 3, at the Herb Winsor Ballfields in Thatcher.
Put on by the Graham County Substance Abuse Coalition, and sponsored by the United Way of Graham and Greenlee Counties, the hunt will be offered in four age groups:
- 0-3 and 13-18, running from 10:15-10:35 a.m., and again at 11:40 a.m. to noon
- 4-8 and 9-12, running from 10:45-11:05 a.m., and again from 12:10-12:30 p.m.
“There will be two big prize eggs in each age category, and then there’ll be five smaller prize eggs in each category,” said Melissa Mitchell with the Substance Abuse Coalition. “We have stickers and candy, temporary tattoos and substance abuse prevention stickers in the eggs.”
In between the two egg hunt times, there will be games — including cornhole, basketball and tug-of-war — as well as a chance to get photos with the Easter Bunny.
On Saturday, starting at 8 a.m., Airborne LLC on U.S. Highway 191, will host an indoor Easter egg hunt.
The hunt is open to ages 10 and younger and participation is limited to the building capacity.
On Sunday, the River Church in Safford will host a hunt for 1,500 plastic Easter eggs following church services. In addition, each adult in attendance will receive a free copy of the book “The Case for Easter” by author Lee Strobel.”
Service times are 8:30 and 10 a.m.
