GRAHAM COUNTY — With rain expected over the next week, sometimes heavy which has resulted in a flood watch until Wednesday night, Graham county, the Town of Thatcher and the City of Safford are making sand and bags available to residents.
Graham County has empty bags and sand available for the public to fill themselves at the Graham County Fairgrounds on Armory Road.
Thatcher also has empty bags and sand available at the town’s Public Works yard on Reay Lane, for residents who want to fill bags themselves. Residents may take up to 10 bags each.
Safford is making available up to five filled bags per household at the city’s Public Works office on Discovery Park Boulevard during regular business hours.
For those wishing to fill their own bags, Safford has sand available at the Mesa Yard office complex on Discovery Park Boulevard.
Pima has not yet announced whether sand or bags will be made available.
