SAFFORD — Families that might be facing a less than prosperous holiday season will be able to get a little help from American Legion Swift-Murphy Post 32.
The local American Legion is hosting a Christmas party Sunday, Dec. 19, from noon to 4 p.m.
“We do stocking decorating, cookie decorating, there will be a coloring contest, face painting, temporary tattoos, and Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there, too,” said the Legion’s Tom Sanders.
Each child will receive a gift, thanks to two truckloads of toys that were collected by FFF Clubhouse and donated to the Legion.
There is no income requirement or pre-registration needed to participate.
The Legion also announced a New Year’s Eve Party for those over 21. Cost is $10 per person and in addition to music from the Heart and Soul band, attendees will enjoy pazole and menudo, plus a champagne toast at midnight.
