PIMA — Eastern Arizona Museum and Historical Society announced its replacement for the cancelled haunted house has also been cancelled.
With the haunted house no longer able to be staged due to renovations at the Wm. Carter Farm Museum, museum officials planned to return to an old favorite — a Fall Chili Cookoff.
However, museum officials were notified by the Graham County Health Department that food prepared in private kitchens may not be served to the general public, forcing the cancellation of the cookoff event planned for Oct. 25.
“After looking over the options, the board decided instead to turn our attention to the Holiday Bazaar we host in November. Maybe next year we can work out some logistics and have a cookoff again,” museum officials wrote in a posting to social media.
The public can still support the museum through direct donations. Currently the museum is fund-raising for replacement windows throughout the Farm Museum.
Eastern Arizona Museum and Historical Society can accept donations during regular museum hours, Thursdays through Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
