Case count in Graham County continues to climb

SAFFORD — More than 70 percent of all the coronavirus cases in the Gila Valley since the start of the pandemic have occurred in the past three months.

Graham County Health Department reported 35 new cases Tuesday, bringing January’s total to 1,189 thus far. There were 1,013 cases in the entire month of December and 969 in November.

The total number of cases in Graham County since the start of the pandemic stands at 4,417.

Graham County’s positivity rate is at 36.6 percent and there have been 58 deaths.

Greenlee County

Greenlee County Health Department reported seven new cases Monday evening.

That brings the total number of new cases in Greenlee County in January thus far to 83, 17 percent of the 498 cases Greenlee has experienced since the start of the pandemic. Greenlee County’s positivity rate is at 30 percent and there have been six deaths.
