SAFFORD — The Red Cross is hoping that the return of a popular movie franchise will help drive blood donations this holiday season.

Those who donate now through Dec. 16 will be entered for a chance to win a private screening of the film, “Matrix Resurrections” for the donor and 50 friends.

All donors will also receive a $10 Amazon gift card via e-mail.

There are three donation opportunities in the Gila Valley this month:

● Dec. 15 at Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

● Dec. 16 at Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

● Dec. 16 at GFWC Women’s Club of Safford, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Blood and platelet donors can save time at their next donation by using RapidPass® to complete their pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online, on the day of their donation, before arriving at the blood drive. To get started, follow the instructions at RedCrossBlood.org/RapidPass or use the Blood Donor App.

All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in.
