PHOENIX — The Bureau of Land Management announced Wednesday the fee-free days for 2024.
There are no fees for standard recreation amenities and no day-use fees on BLM-managed and National Conservation lands on:
● January 15 (Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.)
● June 19 (Juneteenth National Independence Day)
● July 16 (BLM’s birthday)
● September 28 (National Public Lands Day)
● November 11 (Veterans Day)
Expanded amenity fees and other fees (i.e., group day-use, overnight camping, cabin rentals, and individual special recreation permits for the use of special areas) will remain in effect.
“Our public lands are the gift that keeps giving,” says BLM Director Tracy Stone-Manning. “With BLM’s fee-free days, we hope that Americans will get outside to enjoy these national treasures.”
BLM manages about 3,400 recreation sites and areas nationwide. The vast majority of those recreation sites and areas are already free of charge for the public to enjoy.
There are 148 BLM-managed and conservation areas in Arizona, including the Gila Box Riparian National Conservation Area; the 500,000-acre San Simon Valley, which includes the Hot Well Dunes Recreation Area; the 21-mile-long Black Hills Back Country Byway; and the 18-mile-long Safford-Morenci Trail.
