KLONDYKE — With the Pinnacle fire increasing in size and pushing northward, the Black Rock Ranch area was ordered into evacuation status late Tuesday evening.

The wildfire has grown to 15,801 acres as of Wednesday morning and remains at 0-percent containment.

In addition to Black Rock, residents southeast of the fire and north of Klondyke/Aravaipa Road are evacuated. Residents in Klondyke are in Ready status.

The fire in the Santa Teresa Wilderness is moving northwest through rough, remote terrain, hampering firefighting efforts, so firefighters are focusing on structure protection. Meanwhile the southeastern portion of the fire line is showing minimal activity.

There are 392 personnel assigned to fight the fire, including six hand crews, four helicopters, 13 engines, nine water tenders and two dozers.
