Benefit Auction at the Fair Grounds: Exciting To Any Bidder

On Friday, April 22nd, the fourth annual Funding our Future Spring prized chicken coopAuction commenced in union with the 4H Club, the Graham County Sheriff’s Office, the Boys and Girls Club, along with SEACUS Meals on Wheels program. The silent auction ran from 4:30, followed by a live auction. Items going up for auction ranged from toys to chicken coops. There were also refreshments available for the healthy appetites of the avid bidder.IMG_2885

Shellye De Leon, director of the Boys and Girls club, explained what the funds raised by the auction pay for. “The money earned will benefit the members by providing funds for our various programs. These include tutoring, Healthy Habits-cooking class, as well as our S.T.E.M. class (science-technology-engineering-math) and other leadership and life skill building activities,” De Leon said. “I appreciate those in the community who helped in any way to make this event possible…preparing the event, by donation of an auction item to purchase of an auction item or showing their support by attending the spectacular event. I feel truly blessed to know a community can come together to support one another.” It was a great auction, and we hope to see you there next year.
