SAFFORD — For the second year in a row, the Graham County Substance Abuse Coalition is teaming with all law enforcement in the Gila Valley to keep people safe on the roads this holiday season.

Be Bright, Drive Right will take place in the parking lot of Walmart on Saturday, Nov. 29, from 5-7 p.m.

“Our law enforcement agencies will have resources and information there,” said Kathy Grimes, Graham County Substance Abuse Coalition executive director. “Then we’re going to have some family activities, we’re going to have some educational information (and) we’re going to have Kool-Aid party for the kids.”

Santa Claus will also make an appearance at the event.

The coalition, law enforcement and III Counties Distributing are also working with area bars to ensure that no one underaged is served alcohol this holiday season, as well as those 21 and older designate a sober driver.

And they’re asking parents,” Who’s watching the punch?” The purpose is to make sure that adults who host holiday parties keep an eye on those under 21, to ensure they aren’t getting access to alcohol during gatherings.
