SAFFORD — Parents looking for a way for their children to have fun while improving their academics during the summer have an option thanks to Safford Unified School District and the Governor’s Office.

SUSD was selected to host an AZOnTrack summer camp, which will be open to any Graham County student in kindergarten through sixth grade.

The camp will run for four weeks, May 31 to June 9, and June 13-23. Each two-week camp is broken into two sessions — morning and afternoon — of 3.5 hours each, and each session will focus on a different subject.

● Reading, May 31 to June 9 morning session

● Civics, May 31 to June 9 afternoon session

● Writing, June 13-23 morning session

● Math, June 13-23 afternoon session

Art, music and physical education will be included each day. Free breakfast will be available before the start of the morning session and free lunch will be available between sessions.

Parents can register their children for the entire camp or just certain sessions.

The camp will take place at Ruth Powell School and registration has started. Go to Summer Camp Sign Up (google.com).
