THATCHER — Local First Arizona is bringing the 18th annual Rural Policy Forum to the Gila Valley Aug. 6-7.

Arizona Town Hall wants to take advantage of the event, with so many from around the state expected to make their way to Graham County for the forum.

Arizona Town Hall will conduct one of its stops in Thatcher on Thursday, Aug. 7, from 3-5 p.m., at Eastern Arizona College, the same site as the Rural Policy Forum.

The topic for this year’s town hall is Building Arizona’s Workforce.

Even those not participating in the Rural Policy Forum can take part in Arizona Town Hall. Click here to register.

After conducting listening stops across the state, Town Hall leaders will collect all the comments into a final report that state and local leaders can use as a blueprint to effect change.

Previous Town Halls have led to the creation of the state Department of Revenue, Department of Environmental Quality and Water Commission; election redistricting reform; and helped shape the policy that led to the Transportation Vision 21 Task Force, among other initiatives and policies.
