Anthony Aguilar

Anthony Aguilar, a resident of Thatcher and a United States Marine Corps veteran, entered into the eternities Saturday afternoon, May 6, 2023, at the Banner Gateway Medical Center in Gilbert, surrounded by his loving family, following a valiant and honorable fight with cancer. Anthony was 45.

Anthony Aguilar was born on July 3, 1977, in Morenci.  After high school Anthony very proudly became a United States Marine. He honorably served from 1995 through 1999. Anthony was currently employed by FCI Safford. During his free time, he loved being with his family and playing with his grandkids. His favorite was coaching football for the Safford Bulldogs. Anthony was not only loved by his family, but by all his doctors, nurses and coworkers.

Anthony is survived by: his father, Joseph Aguilar (Kelly); and his mother, Patricia Luna (Ralph); his children, Gabriella Eberhart (Joshuah), Eric Aguilar (Leah) and Brandon Aguilar; his grandkids, Gideon Aguilar and Josias Eberhart; his siblings Joey Aguilar (Sunny), Darren Aguilar (Crystal) and Elyse Foxworth (Jimmy); numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Anthony was predeceased by: his maternal grandparents, Arnold and Teresa Espinoza; and his paternal grandparents, Manuel and Manuela Aguilar; and babies Aguilar.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Anthony will be celebrated Monday, May 15, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church by Rev. Nicodemus Shaghel. Committal with military honors conferred by the United States Marine Corps Honor Detail will follow in the Safford Cemetery.

A Rosary and prayers for Anthony will be offered Monday morning, May 15, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
