Another COVID-19 death on the San Carlos Apache reservation

SAN CARLOS —The San Carlos Apache Tribe announced Friday another COVID-19 related death has occurred on the reservation, bringing the total number of tribal members who have died due to the virus to seven.

No details were released as to age of the victim or if there were any underlying medical conditions.

The tribe also announced 19 new positive cases have been identified on the reservation, bringing the total number of tribal members infected to 280 — 256 on the reservation and 24 off. Of the total, 169 have recovered and 104 are active.

Graham County is at 236 cases; with 51 recovered, 181 active and four deaths.

Greenlee County is at 38 cases; with 12 recovered, 25 active and one death.
