Milt Jensen, a resident of Virden, entered into eternal life Thursday, June 9, 2016, following injuries sustained in an accident. He was 73.
Andrew Milton Jensen was born to Milton Andrew Jensen and Delsa Farnsworth on November 26, 1942, in Farmington, NM. He was better known as “Milt” by everyone who knew him. He lived and attended elementary school in Virden, NM through the eighth grade. After the Virden High School closed he attended Duncan High School, Duncan, AZ, graduating in 1960.
Starting in January 1961 he attended the El Paso School of Electronics (at night) and the El Paso Barber College (daytime) in El Paso, TX. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the country of Chile, South America. He grew to love the people and country of Chile, loved the Spanish language, and he visited Chile as often as time and money would allow. He maintained a worthy status in the church, where he performed his many different callings with all his heart. Milt served Greenlee County and the surrounding communities in both AZ and NM as an employee for Duncan Valley Electric Cooperative for 41 years, starting in December 1968. Following his retirement from DVEC he worked with Trans-World Network for another 5 years. Milt was an avid Amateur Radio Operator who specialized in the 160 meter band. He loved his hobby almost as much as he loved his grandchildren. Milt passed away doing what he loved – helping others. He was always only a phone call away when you needed him. He leaves behind a great legacy, not only to his 7 children, 33 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, brothers and sister, but also to anyone who knew him either personally or from a distance. Milt was a man of great knowledge and was always seeking more. He loved to share that knowledge with people. He always said “the glory of God is intelligence, never stop attaining it.”
Milt was preceded in death by his father Andrew “Andy” Jensen, his mother Delsa Farnsworth Jensen, his sister Delsa Mae Jensen, 5 grandchildren Emily Lanae, Braden Andrew, Chloe Elizabeth, Daniel James and Adrian Jensen. He is preparing the way for his remaining family here on earth, his eternal spouse of nearly 49 years, Rulene Morris Jensen, children Jason Dee Jensen (sp. Paulina, Nathan/Brandee, Leonie/Eric/Delilah, Monty, Natalie, Oniah, Micaella, Adrian), Andrea Lynn Cross (sp. Michael, Arianna/Jordynn, Anica/Cadence, Alyssa/Azailia), Milton Brett Jensen (sp.
