SAFFORD — Another new telephone scam has hit the Gila Valley.
A man told Safford Police he was contacted several times by someone claiming to be from Amazon, claiming someone else tried to use the victim’s account to purchase thousands of dollars of items, and the caller needed to verify the victim’s account information to prevent the hack.
The man did not give his information, and Safford Police informed him that Amazon does not call its customers.
