PHOENIX — Arizona Game and Fish announced it will conduct its annual aerial winter wildlife surveys through January.

Game and Fish will be using aircraft to conduct a count of deer and javelina in the state’s game management areas. The counts are used to determine the number of hunt permits issued each year.

While the surveys are scheduled to minimize impact to hunters, some surveys may overlap with an ongoing hunt.
