Add another nine cases of COVID-19 to Graham County’s total

SAFFORD — Following the announcement of 12 new positive cases of COVID-19 cases Wednesday morning, The Graham County Department of Health an additional nine new cases Wednesday evening.

The 21 cases Wednesday bring the county’s total number of cases to 117 since the start of the pandemic. Thirty-three have recovered, 82 are active and there have been two deaths.

The largest group — 45 — testing positive are those between the ages of 35 and 64 years old. There have been 21 under the age of 20 testing positive, 30 are between the ages of 21 and 34, and 21 are 65 and older.

According to the Arizona Department of Health Services map of zip codes, the Safford area (85546) has 61 cases, Thatcher (85552) has between six and 10, and Pima (85543) has 30.

Greenlee County, which recently mandated the wearing of face coverings in public, has 18 cases of coronavirus. Nine have recovered, eight are active and there has been one death.
