SAFFORD — The count of late early ballots has changed the vote totals in the races for Safford and Thatcher councils but not the results.
As of Wednesday, with 26 provisional ballots left to verify and count, Luke Arbizo, Mary Bingham and Steve McGaughey remain the winners of the Safford City Council race.
Arbizo has 995 votes, Bingham 809 and McGaughey 773.
In Thatcher, Jenny Howard, Mike McEuen and Ryan Allen remain the winners, with Howard receiving 673 votes, McEuen 552 and Allen 542.
The other contested local race also remains unchanged. Stephanie Norton wins the race for Graham County Justice of the Peace, with 2,480 votes to 1,270 for Michael Andazola.
The Justice of the Peace race was decided in the Republican Primary, as there are no Democrats registered to run in November’s General Election.
Voter turnout in Graham County for the Primary Election was 23.54 percent. Of the 5,353 ballots cast, 3,554 were early and 711 were late early.
