SAN CARLOS — The San Carlos Apache Forest Resources Program announced a series of prescribed burns will take place this month to reduce fuel for the upcoming fire season.
Weather permitting, the burns will begin March 30.
“Our goal is to consume herbaceous grass and fine fuels, which are the main carriers for wildfires. These operations will help reduce the threat of wildfires in our community by protecting infrastructure and all natural resources,” the program stated in a prepared release.
Burning operations will take place in:
- Bylas
- Peridot
- Seven Mile
- Gilson Wash
- Beverly Hills
There are no road closures planned; however, prescribed burn signs will be placed along roadways.
