SAFFORD — The Safford City-Graham County Library and Southeastern Arizona Community Unique Service (SEACUS) are teaming for a cleaning supplies drive for the area’s elderly population.

The Library and SEACUS are seeking donations of:

  • Dish soap
  • Laundry supplies
  • Household cleaners
  • Paper goods
  • Hygiene items
  • Toothbrushes
  • Lotion

SEACUS provided 445 hours of housekeeping and 16,124 hours of attendant care for seniors in 2025.

“To some, housekeeping may seem like a maid is coming into the home, but for our seniors it means maybe someone coming in to clean their floor so they can safely stay in their home, or so they don’t hurt themselves trying to do it and end up in a nursing facility. So to us, housekeeping plays a crucial role in them being able to be independent,” said Stephanie Nabor, SEACUS executive director.

SEACUS also distributed 33,241 pounds of food to seniors, as well as provided 35,795 freshly made, nutritious meals at the Senior Centers in Safford, Clifton and Duncan and through the Meals on Wheels program that delivers meals to homebound seniors.

Donations are being accepted now through April 23, and can be dropped off at the Safford City-Graham County Library.
