SAFFORD — Every child and their families in Graham County are invited to a party this weekend.
The Free Community Kids Christmas Party will take place Saturday, Dec. 20, from noon to 4 p.m., at the Ag Building at Graham County Fairgrounds.
The party includes free hot dogs, chips and drinks; games; crafts; face painting; and gifts. Plus children can visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
The party is open to all children, ages 0 to 18.
“When you’re a senior in high school, and you still want to have Christmas, we don’t have anything else in this Valley,” said Kat Sticklin with the American Legion Post 32 Auxiliary.
Sticklin said a number of volunteers have come together to put on the event, which will serve upward of 400 children, including:
- American Legion Post 32 Auxiliary
- American Legion Post 95 Auxiliary
- Sons of the American Legion
- Graham County Search and Rescue
- The Newman Center
- Graham County Safe House
- Toys for Tots
FFF Clubhouse and the Legion Riders motorcycle groups conducted toy runs to ensure younger children had gifts, now the Auxiliaries are seeking monetary donations to purchase gift cards for the pre-teens and teens.
To donate or to volunteer, call American Legion Swift-Murphy Post 32 at 928-428-2990.
