PIMA — Two area towns are looking to upgrade their signage.

The Town of Clifton has designed new welcome signs and town officials are asking for the public’s input on the signs’ background color — white or beige.

Pima’s current welcome signs honor the Pima High School girls basketball back-to-back state championships in 2021 and 2022, and the fabric is deteriorating.

Batty said he has worked out an agreement to use as the welcome sign a photo showing cotton fields, taken by a Pima resident, and the town’s logo will be added in one of the corners of the photo.

Batty also gave an update on the progress toward a digital sign in front of Town Hall.

“So we talked about a marquee over here, we had some design options,” Batty said. “I never loved any of the design options (and) I never felt like Council was really sold on any of them. I was sitting in my office a weekend one day and I drew this up. It incorporates our logo and has the (digital) marquee in the middle of it.”

The Town Council directed Batty to move forward with the new design.
