Stronghold fire at 62-percent containment

COCHISE STRONGHOLD — Headway is being made against the Stronghold fire in northern Cochise County, and all evacuations have been rescinded

The fire is at 2,138 acres with 62-percent containment.

The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office has rescinded all “Go” and “Set” orders for residents in the Pearce and Sunsites areas, putting everyone back to “Ready” status.

The fire started at approximately 11:30 a.m. Monday, near Sunsites-Pearce and 16 miles south of Cochise. One outbuilding has been destroyed and cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
