SAFFORD — Safford Streets Department crew will continue work to preserve the city’s roadways with fog sealing next week.
Streets schedule for work include:
- Monday, April 14 —20th Street, from U.S. Highway 191 to 8th Avenue
- Tuesday, April 15 — 8th Avenue, from 8th Street to U.S. Highway 70; Central Avenue, from Main Street to Highway 70; and East Main Street, from Highway 191 to Highway 70
- Wednesday, April 16 — 7th Street, from 8th Avenue to Central Avenue; and 7th Avenue, from Canal to Highway 70
For residents and businesses on streets scheduled for sealing, the city’s Streets Department team will deliver a flyer to the door with the specific date the work will take place. Once the sealing is complete, the road will usually be ready to drive on within just a few hours.
City crews will place and remove traffic cones and barricades as needed. The city asks that residents do not move barricades and instead use alternate parking and travel routes while work is underway.
Motorists are asked to use caution when traveling through these areas and plan alternate routes when possible.
