Covid cases in Graham, Greenlee fall during Christmas week

PHOENIX — Graham County experienced nine cases of Covid during Christmas week, while Greenlee County had seven and Cochise County 45.

That’s according to the Arizona Department of Health Services Covid dashboard.

The nine cases in Graham County the week of Dec. 22 was the second straight week of declines, while Greenlee was down after one of its largest number of cases the week before. In Cochise, it was the third straight week the number of cases fell.

Graham County experienced 554 cases of Covid in 2024, while Greenlee had 275 and Cochise 3,102.

Despite having the fewest number of cases, Greenlee County had the greatest rate, with 2,935.2 cases per 100,000 population. Cochise had 2,488.8 cases per 100,000 population and Graham 1,401.6 cases per 100,000 population.

Statewide, there were 114,946 cases of Covid in 2024, with those 65 and older making up 32 percent of those cases, and those 19- to 44-years-old accounting for 30 percent.
