SAN CARLOS — Arizona Department of Transportation announced there will be no planned road closures due to construction for the remainder of the holiday season.
Work on U.S. Highway 60, between Miami and Superior, where full road closures are required during the week due to blasting operations, will resume after the New Year.
However, motorists should be aware of a wildfire currently burning near U.S. Highway 70 on the San Carlos Apache Reservation.
The Present fire in Peridot near the Graham-Gila County border, just south of U.S. 70, is at 50 acres. The fire was first reported at 1:36 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23.
Cause and containment status of the fire has not yet been reported.
