The City of Safford has announced a temporary closure of Taxiway A at Safford Regional Airport – 1LT Duane Spalsbury Field for pavement replacement. The closure will begin on Monday, October 7, 2024, and is expected to last through October 19, 2024. During this time, back-taxi operations will be in effect on both runways. The only available exit to the ramp will be via Taxiway C3.

Pilots are encouraged to check NOTAMs (Notices to Airmen) and monitor CTAF (Common Traffic Advisory Frequency) for important updates on construction and traffic during the closure. City and airport officials express appreciation for patience and understanding of all pilots and airport users as we work to improve the airport infrastructure for enhanced safety and performance while keeping Safford a great place to Live, Work, Visit, and Fly!
