TUCSON — With the race considered anyone’s to win, upcoming debates between incumbent Republican Congressman Juan Ciscomani and Democratic Challenger Kirsten Engel could be a deciding factor in the November results.
The two will debate on Arizona PBS’AZ Votes 2024 series Thursday, Aug. 29, at 5 p.m., and again on PBS on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m.
The nonpartisan Cook Political Report ranks the Arizona Congressional District 6 race a toss-up, as well as the AZ CD1 race between Republican incumbent David Schweikert and Democratic challenger Amish Shah.
In the most recent campaign finance filings, Engel held a nearly half-million dollar advantage in cash on hand. As of July 10, Engel took in $4.4 million while spending $1.2 million, leaving her $3.2 million for the General Election.
Ciscomani took in slightly more, at $4.5 million, but also spent more due to facing a challenger in the Primary Election. He spent $1.9 million, leaving $2.7 million cash on hand.
The funds do not include any spending on the race by the national parties or political action committees.
