BISBEE — Cochise County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public about a scam related to Thursday’s visit of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
In a press release, the Sheriff’s Office said that residents are receiving calls offering to sell tickets to Trump’s visit. The Sheriff’s Office said there is no public event connected to the visit and no tickets are available, “except tickets issued by the campaign.”
Trump is scheduled to fly in to Sierra Vista Airport Thursday, and then be driven to an undisclosed portion of the Arizona-Mexico border for what the Sheriff’s Office has called a “briefing.” Trump is then to motorcade back to the airport and fly out.
The airport will be closed during Trump’s visit, and Sierra Vista Police are reminding the public that there is no parking on roadways, or blocking access to businesses or side streets from those wishing to line streets during the motorcade.
