Graham Board OKs contracts for sex offender assessments, counseling

SAFFORD — The Graham County Board of Supervisors were asked Monday to consider multiple contracts for dealing with sex offenders.

Graham County Probation Dept. brought forward three contracts for counseling and assessment of adult and youth sex offenders.

“What we’re doing with the contracts is we’re going to try and do a two-year bock,” said Chief Probation Officer Herman Andrews. “We haven’t done this before, but maybe that will kind of cut down on the rising cost of everything.”

For assessment of adult and juvenile sex offenders, the board approved a contract with N-Process Treatment & Assessment Inc. Fees ranging from $50 to $400 will be charged based on the services provided to each probationer.

N-Process Treatment & Assessment Inc. was also approved to provide counseling for juvenile sex offenders at a cost of $200 for group sessions, $100 per session for individual or family sessions and $30 for workbooks.

Family Transitions of Arizona LLC was selected to provide counseling for adult sex offenders. Cost is $400 per group session, $275 for maintenance group sessions, $90 per for new individual intake session and $30 for workbooks. There are also two assessment fees of $165 and $100.

Counseling services are in-person, every Monday of the month, at the Probation Offices.

The board also approved a contract with Advance Forensic Assessments for polygraph services for Probation, at $300 per test, as a statutory part of sex offender treatment and supervision.
