SAFFORD — The Gila Valley’s newest spot for dessert is opening just in time for the weekend.
Garrett’s Sweet Shop, on Safford’s Main Street next door to Copper and Cotton Lifestyle Co., will open to the public Friday at noon.
“Ready or not, we’re going to do it,” said owner Tricia Garrett.
Garrett and her team — Emily Wright and Emma Hulme — debuted the shop for an invitation-only soft opening Wednesday, and Garrett said response was overwhelmingly positive.
“Tonight’s been great, social media response has been great,” Garrett said. “We’ve had people walking by on Main Street and put faces to the window and opening the door if it’s unlocked. Everybody’s really excited, so I’m excited.”
The shop features ice cream, baked confections and candy.
