Melinda “Lindy” Hoopes, was born on May 27, 1977, in Mesa, AZ. After a fight against colon cancer, she peacefully passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on July 10, 2024.
Lindy served a spanish-speaking mission in Venezuela for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Following her mission, she dedicated the last 20 years of her career to inspiring and educating students as a Spanish teacher at Highland High School.
She is survived by her parents, Fred and Krisanne Hoopes; her siblings, James Hoopes (Beth), Leeanne Cook (Blake), Brittani Arnow (Brandon), and Melissa Fuller (Mark), and her partner, Michelle Wilson. Lindy was also a loving aunt to her 5 nephews and 8 nieces.
Lindy’s warmth, kindness, and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services for Lindy will be conducted Friday, July 19, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 825 South 32nd Street in Mesa.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, July 18, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Bunker Family Funeral Homes Garden Chapel, 33 North Centennial Way in Mesa and Friday morning, July 19, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 825 South 32nd Street in Mesa.
Graveside services for Lindy will be conducted Saturday morning, July 20, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., at the Graham Cemetery.
