Justin Guy Winkler (J-Dogg), a resident of Safford and Clifton, entered into eternal rest Monday, July 8, 2024, in Safford. He was 50 years old.
Justin was born in Morenci on Thursday, December 27th, 1973, to Michael Winkler and Barbara Jean Danis. When he was 5 years old Barbara married Richard Starr of Clifton. Justin attended Morenci and Clifton Elementary Schools. Justins loving mother passed on July 11th, 1987, and afterwards he moved with his grandfather Norman Danis to Springfield, Massachusetts. In Springfield Justin attended Westfield Vocational Tech High School. After graduation Justin moved back to Clifton to be with his Stepfather Richard and his brothers Chris and Ryan. Justin was always doting on his little brothers, and they shared plenty of adventures through the years. Years later Justin married Roseann Delgado and they had a son. Justin Ray Winkler was born March 18th, 2001, and from then on Justin had a little partner to share all the father and son activities with. To play ball and go to games with, to spoil and love. Justin was always unapologetically himself. He loved and trusted people to a fault and was one of the most kindhearted, sweetest guys you could meet. If he was your friend, you knew it. He was always quick with a goofy joke and a laugh, and he could light up a room with his presence. He loved sports and was a great basketball player when he was young, and I would be remiss if I didn’t state here for him that he was the greatest Denver Broncos Fan ever so I will. There are so many things we will miss about Justin, and we are all better off for having known, loved and been loved by him. He is with his mom now and we will carry on until we see him again. Justin is survived by: his wife, Roseann; his children, Justin, Amarah and Katheryn; his granddaughter Journ’ii; his grandfather Norman Danis; his stepfather Richard Starr (Lydia Starr); his brothers Ryan Starr (Alaina Starr), Chris Starr (Jessica Starr); his step brothers, Marcus Borjon, Jaime Borjon; his sister Marisa Borjon (Mike Steagall); Aunts Teri and Norma; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones. Justin was preceded in death by: His mother Barbara Jean Starr; his father Michael Winkler and his grandparents Arnold and Gertrude Winkler.
Services for Justin will be conducted privately at a later date.
