A man called the Sheriff’s office after being threatened by an alleged woman he met on a dating app called Flirtual. The man said he and a woman named, Layla, had been messaging and talking to each other on the phone through Discord. Layla apparently told the man that she was 19 years old and lived in Michigan. The man said that they had also video chatted but when Layla began doing objectionable things the man said that he did not want to watch and turned his phone away and just listened.
It appears that the woman wanted the victim to do things he wasn’t willing to do, and her messages turned violent. The woman reportedly told him that she had killed her ex and would travel to his home and put a bullet in his head. The man said he called authorities when she said this because he felt he needed to report that she admitted to killing someone.
The deputy told the man that there are scammers who will get people to send nude photos, then threaten to send them to family members if the victim doesn’t pay a ransom. The deputy told the man that the woman’s account was probably fake and set up for that purpose or something similar. The deputy documented screenshots from the man’s phone and advised him to block the woman’s profile and completely ignore her.
