Ann Benavidez Romero passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018, at her home in Thatcher at the age of 75. Ann was born March 27, 1943, to Pablo and Celia Benavidez in Safford.
She was raised in Pima and attended school there.
She married David Romero on September 23, 1961, in Safford, in the old St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. For the last 38 years, she and David lived in Thatcher.
Ann is survived by: her husband of more than 50 years, David Romero; her daughter, Lisa Ann O’Brien (Patrick); six sisters and four brothers; three grandchildren, Alexa Cucciardi, Amanda Davidson and Ashley Cucciardi; and her three great-grandchildren, Sophia Davidson, Stella Davidson and Leo Matthew Swindle.
Everyone was blessed to be in her company.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Romero will be celebrated Monday morning, June 25, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church by Rev. Robert Rodriguez. Committal will follow in the Thatcher Cemetery.
A Rosary will be prayed Monday morning, June 25, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church by Deacon Carl Vessels.
The family will receive friends Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., also at the church.
A gathering and luncheon will be held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church after the cemetery services.
