THATCHER — The Town of Thatcher announced that the widening of 8th Street will result in a full closure of the street in both directions for three days next week.
Starting Monday, Sept. 9, the roadway will be closed between Bauer and 1st avenues. The closure will run from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day through Wednesday, Sept. 11.
Local residents will be asked to access their homes from the east, at Bauer Avenue, as 1st will be completely shut down.
Last year, the state allocated $4.5 million to the town for the widening of 8th Street, between 20th Avenue and 1st Avenue.
